I am thinking of building some different crappie structure like the ball type structure. The commercial ones are just too expensive. I was think of cutting some pvc 1/2 in. down to about 3-4 in. lengths and securing them somehow. I was thinking maybe epoxy, gorrilla glue or pvc cement. Then pointing them in different directions. I can secure the longer pieces on the water with pvc pipe couplings.
Any thoughts on securing the center of the ball let me know.

Have you thought of using a small 2 1/2 gallon bucket with quick create.You could drill the holes where ever you wanted and then fill with cement. Add on to what ever you have sticking out with couplings , tees, 45, 90, and so on. I have found some odd shape juggs that I have used with gutter, poly pipe, PVC, storm drain pipe. If it's just sittin around I have found use for it.Good Luck!
That's not a bad idea at all. That way the quickcrete would sink it too.
I make them out of toilet bowl floats.
you can use a milk crate and slide the 1/2'' pvc through the holes in the crate in different directions and various lengths to make it like those bill dance balls and put bricks or rock in the crate to sink it.
i have already been making my own crappie balls. i use an old coffe can (plastic) drill holes in it and stick flexible water line in it , then fill it with sakrete. it works for me. try it. flexible water pipe is 24.99 for a 100 ft at home depot. and i like to drink coffee,,,lol.
I am working on a structure using a garage sale bowling ball in the center and PVC into it it weighs 16lbs! we will see!
