Tied a few crappie jigs this evening. Used marabou feather and Muench viscose/wool chenille yarn.

This yarn has a nice iridescent sheen to it when held up close. It's kind of like some fish scales. It's certainly the most expensive chenille yarn I've ever tied with. Jigs weigh approximately 1/16 ounce each.
They look very good I wonder how they hold up to blood stain's from gilled fish profile is excellent!

A very generous woman sold me seven 61-yd. skeins of this yarn for $10. I purchased it at a yard sale, thinking that it might have some good applications for smallmouth bass jigs. Still think it does, but then thought... why not crappie as well?
I Googled some prices and found it selling between $13 and $16 per skein. Regardless of price, I hope and think it will work pretty well. Crappie will be the ultimate judges though.
