A buddy of mine gave me a unused trolling motor transducer for his 747c dual beam, or at least he said it was a dual beam. I cannot find any numbers on this transducer to see if it will fit and work on my 777c2, can you help?
I will add a picture of it to help in a little while.

That may be a trolling motor mount transducer but its not just a DualBeam one. We have only used that housing to build two different types of transducers: the CSi for the 797/798 side imaging units and the QuadraBeam transducers. There should have been some letters/numbers printed on the cable within the first few feet from the connector. Either one will work as a 200/83kHz DualBeam transducer for your 777c2 but if it’s a QuadraBeam you might want to use it as such with this unit. Problem is that if there is no printing in the cable that it will be hard to tell which it is since both use the same cable and therefore the same number of pins in the connector. There is a difference in how these transducer will display if used with the “QuadBeam” Transducer select menu setting. If this is the Compact Side Imaging (CSi) transducer for the 797/798 units than the sonar information in the Side Beam View will appear as a stronger bottom return than if the transducer is truly a QuadraBeam transducer. Not sure if I would be able to tell the difference unless you had two units side by side each with one or the other transducer… It won’t hurt to use the transducer either way though so look for the cable markings and post back.

It has a number kinda scribbled but I think it it 9QB-90T, so I think it is a quad beam.
When looking at this will I need to change the settings on the monitor to quad beam, or will it default to dual beam?

The XTM-9-QB-90-T is the QuadraBeam transducer. You should be able to leave the 777c2 unit set to the QuadBeam menu setting and just flip the switch back and forth. Be aware that when the unit is showing the Side Beam View (this is where the additional "Quad" beam sonar information is shown) that when the switch is set to the DualBeam only transducer that you will not get any usable sonar information in these additional Quad beams.
