Score on Pure lead
Well we recently moved and there were some clogs somewhere I couldn't get to or find. Well the landlord sent the plumbers in and while shooting the s**t asked him if they ever came across any old lead piping.
He turns and looks at me "Reloader, Right??" Nope I pour fishing tackle. Well now if you come with me I might just be able to help you out. We go out to his truck and stacked up in 4ft lengths is old lead water piping. He tells me it's totally dry as they tore it out of an old deer hunting camp that was being re-built, roughly 400 pounds.
Then the fun part NEGOTIATION!!!!! How much for all of it?? He tells me well I could stand to restock my tackle box and my son's with 1/2 oz sinkers and jigs of all types. Well I went and got my storage box (I just packed all my stuff up for the move) and came back with all the made stuff. Traded 1000 jigs (ball, pony, minnow and tube - all sizes) and 200 1/2oz bank sinkers and GOT ALL 400 LBS.
I can re-pour the 1000 jigs easy. Only 400 of them were panfish jigs. Best part is I've got a source for pure lead piping whenever it shows up.
I CALL THAT A SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good score fatman"now if ya got an old muffin pan",I use an mini muffin pan w/ 12 cavities to pour my ingots each weighting approximately 1/4lbs. and I sell the coins"as I see fit":DI found an old timer who owns a farm and used to rent the land to duck hunters right on his water front property right on the Chesapeake bay.The hunters over the years have left hundreds of the duck and geese decoy s and the collar weights laying around... not" the size of your source but not a bad little score for one guy just getting started. And surprisingly enough it's good clean "SUPER SOFT" led! "I have scavenged up at least 30 of those bars laying around on the ground in an old pole shed where they would meet before the hunt. they use these bars to bend round the decoys necks to keep them from blowing away"I know not much of hunting duck,or geese, but I thought it was a nice lil find my dern self"I found that the wheel weights are a lil harder for what i want them for"and they dont pour as well unless mixed w/the softer"Ive already a monster bag of sprues to melt before I even finish w/ the bars i have accrued from this guy for nothing" I offered"but he was happy to see it all go" as the last hunters owed him mega bucks"and wont pay him"so I got all the goodies"Now if I could find an old Muscle car"in some what the same kinda scenario"lol":D
Disgruntle wives are the best way to find good cheap classic cars",and anything else you might be looking for...";)he"he"
