Tobesofkee Catfish

Anyone on here fish for catfish at tobe? I used to fish for um back when the lake was young, there was a road bed that went down into the lake and you could drive down and park right next to where you wanted to fish. We did pretty good but that was long ago, anybody willing to tell me where a good place to fish for um now is? I'm thinking just find a nice hole and dangle a piece of shrimp but would like to here from people who fish for um at tobe, anyhow thanks guys.

Get on Georgia Outdoor News Forum - Powered by vBulletin and get in touch with Sultan of Slime in the Freshwater fishing forum and ask him. Hes is a cat man and would know probably where there is some holes at. He is a dedicated cat man and knos how to catch some goo ones. If at all find some deeper holes and put a number 4 hook or 2 hook an a big glob of pinks on it. Or ask Sultan for his catfish bait recipe. It is said to be deadly.:eek:

Hey Shep, It sounds like you're talking about the fingers (also called the duck ponds), which are located at the north end of the lake off Hwy 74. Your can drive right up to where you want to fish.

I'm probably older than alot of you guys and I remember the lake when it was first built, back before there were any houses or anything else on the lake. If you are headed down the road and go by the entrance of Claystone, Sandy Beach and keep going on down towards Lower Thomaston Road, the last curve before you get to Lower Thomaston Road (where there is now a subdivision) that curve used to not be there and the road went straight, right down into the lake. Thats where we used to Catfish at night, just pull right down and park before you hit the water, setup our lanterns and fish, I believe around the mid to late sixties.

I know right where you are talking about Shep. That is one of my best places to bass fish at I have caught some nice bass off of this roadbed

If you get on Google Earth you can see where it is I think. Looks like the road went straight. Tale tale signs are the clearing straight into the lake?

North end of the Lake between the Duck ponds and the main creek. We used to catch'em around the old skii course.
