    Default painting shad darts

I'm getting ready to make up a buncg of shad darts. I never did 2 color heads with powder paint. What is easier, powder paint them or just dip em. If u are dipping them what paint does everybody use/like. Thanks

Powder paint . drip into your first color then add the second color by brush tapping or dipping.

What stump said. The Shad Dart IMO is a very versatile jig and there are a myriad of paint schemes

The most important thing when curing powder paint on shad darts is to have them clamped with the head pointing up so that the flat face of the dart does not build up with excess paint. Other than that I use a fluid bed to keep the paint layers thin. Full dip in first color partial dip in second color. If the temp is right no need to reheat between colors.

Heat-gun from harbor freight for anything under 1 ounce over that and I preheat in the oven. I just count as I flip it back and forth over the heat-gun. The larger the the head the longer the count. I usually try to err on the side of not hot enough I can always reheat to flow the paint out but if it is too hot it will either pick up way too much paint or burn the paint.
