Ok here are two samples from my attempt on pony head pouring

I am attempting to paint them but not quite sure doing it right.



Top is 1/8 and bottom 1/16

Looks good to me. Wrap the swivels in aluminum foil and dip in paint. No problems.

Where you break the sprue off take a file to it and smooth it down. If you want to use stick on eyes flatten the eye bumps down.

Both heads shown - Take a box knife and get the chunk of lead off the top of the swivel, if both ends don't spin you lose half the action of the jig
Here's what you want with no lead. I pour a lot of horseheads and ponys and clean every one to make sure both ends spin freely.

Its really none of my buisness how people clean there jigs but in my opinion its never a good idea to file or grind or sand on lead it creates lead dust and that's how it gets ingested
Breath it in or get on you and falls into something you eat or drink

I'm not trying to start anything just wanting to give my opinion

I've started useing an old knife more and more and scrape it smooth - I use a old baking tray which catch's them and I use them for starters next time I mold.
