Try with and without a base coat. Contrasting colors can produce interesting variations.
I cut mine with clear but have used without cutting as well. Usually cutting with clear makes it easier to have the translucent effect of the Candy Color.

Just bought my first jar of Candy Chartruse. First question, should I use a base coat besides regular chartruse?
Second question, do any of you guys know if I can or should cut this clear?
Thanks as always for your replies.

That's kinda what I was thinking about trying. Didn't know how the clear would affect the translucence of the candy. Thanks for the reply.
I have tried dipping different bases in different colors just to see what happened. Dipped a floro orange head in Copperhead, came out with a color that almost matches the Cajun cricket color.

Cray I haven't had to base coat mine. Get a good color. I have tried to cut mine with clear but found using straight was what I liked better.

Yep same thing look good no base coat necessary. I did thin the pink with clear a little bit. For me the chart didn't work as well thinned as needed two dips in paint.
what is candy paint? just trying to learn something new. does it talk about it here on the forum? i can not find it.
Epoxy Fishing Lure Powder Paint<br>Transparent Candy Colors
Brief description in here. The 42 chartruse is the color I just bought to try. It is a powder paint. The candy color gives it more depth and sharper brighter color. This is my first time trying the candy, have several colors and a few custom mixes I have played with. I'm sure I will try it over different base colors to see what I get. I have a silver/clear mix that looks almost chrome I want to try it over.
