Looking for wide John boat

I hope that you find what you need. Used riveted Jon’s sometimes come with issues. I usually put the plug in and add water to check for weak rivets. Also check the transom for rot but the rest is pretty straightforward. I ride a 1648 Jon myself and love the stability compared to the skinnier versions. A good Jon boat of any size is difficult to find.

I looked for over a year for one without much luck.
first off i was a bit fussy in that i didnt want a center seat, also preferred welded over rivits.
Ended up with a new leftover model Allweld 14x42 for $1450.
Could have had a 12x48 for the same price.
So dont rule out shopping around for a leftover model.
The 42 wide suits me fine, but i wouldnt go narrower.
Also got a new leftover 20 horse Merk from same dealer for $2350.
Now that was 6 years ago, but i think there wouldnt be much difference today if you shop around.

New E Z load 850 lb trailer with 12 inch wheels was $850 with torsion suspension.

That’s a good rig yobuck. I got lucky and found mine, a garage queen, while looking for just a motor. It was 18yo with about 40 hrs on it all, the paint wasn’t even knocked off the prop. To find one similar to mine lately, even used, is getting harder and more expensive. Hope you find what you’re after.

These type boats as a rule will have low hours on the outboard due to mostly trolling motor use.
Most days my outboard dosent even get used much, as im on the electric from the get go.
A 6 gal. tank of fuel is apt to last for the entire season with some left.
But that has much to do with the types of places i fish also.
If i were fishing the big water places with lots of people, i wouldnt choose a jon boat.
