Best day I’ve had in quite a long time. Did some scouting today and stumbled onto a new, to me, spot. Hang gliding in 12 ft and casting a bobber and jig in towards the shoreline. Found a nice school of crappies in shallow. Fished them for over an hour before they moved on. I’m not using livescope. Went up lake to a different spot and caught my only pike of this season. 4lb test, 1/32 oz hair jig that my buddy Jim Gronow tied, and a bobber. Short fight in cold water. Put it in the livewell and the crappies moved in to the spot. Finished my limit there and headed back to the ramp. Nice weather and good fishing. Can’t beat a day like this. I’ll try again tomorrow though.

Beautiful pike Smitty! Craig and I left with 9 keepers today. We caught just a few more after you left. Something seemed to slow the action on the whole lake today. It should have been a prime day for catching, but it sure was great to be out there.
