    Default Shenango Lake Water Level

The lake, as of March 22, is about 4 feet from being at Summer pool. Probably willl be a lot less, after the rain we get this week.

It came up 2 foot in 2 days. I had a y stick for my pole that I left at the waters edge the other day and today it's half under water. Water is muddy. Today it was like glass. With the weather pattern predicted for next week it still looks like it will be another couple of weeks before any movement of fish start. Still only 40 degrees.

The lake is now a half foot above summer pool, and from the looks of the river, will rise some more.

Water temp 43. Level is 1 1/3 feet above normal pool. Went out this morning. Really beautiful morning with snow covering everything. Very peaceful. Had at least six or seven hits where the fish would grab the bait and run with but dropped the bait when you set the hook. Only had some large minnows so I put on a trout magnet with an orange body and a few maggots. Caught 9 gills and one perch from one sunken log. They were down 7 1/2 feet in 9. Fow.

Docks are in place for summer. Rest rooms at the camp grounds is open. Water is high and muddy. Most of the shoreline is under water.

Fished this morning for 5 hours and to say the bite was slow is over stating it. Caught 3 fish. One small Muskie that went 19" on 4 # test. Was lying next to a tree in 2 fow. 2 crappie one 15" and one 11. Both males. Caught them out away from shore in 14 fow 11 ' down. Tried all different types of shoreline and brush and no fish.

Water is extremely muddy and surface temp was 42 degrees this morning and warmed up to 47 when I left at noon.
