Reelfoot Trip

Went to Reelfoot Sunday. As my luck would have it. 3 ft. above normal pool.Fished Sunday afternoon,caught 41.Monday,caught 47 BIG GILLS,7 cats.Tuesday, caught 17 BIG GILLS.12 cats.Also seen 7 or 8 nice cotton mouths. Used a 1/32oz black jig tiped with a wax worm. Caught them all at Kirby's Pocket. May go back someday when the water level is normal. Next time I will use a little more lb. test line, got my line broke a bunch of times on those cat fish.

Plan on going this weekend and take my wife fishing for a change,did you fish the trees or pads?

Me and wife just got back, and did not fair too well. Had bad weather one day, and high winds the next. Managed a few big bulls, but lots of throw backs, and all the catfish I wanted. Never caught a fish in the pads, caught all fish on laydowns, or weed banks. Have done alot better in the past, but still a fun trip. Caught most of the fish in the Kirby Pocket area.
