Default My late Great Grandmother's Bluegill

She caught this back in the 50s. Won the Ohio state record for a few years.

She just passed on and gave this fish mount to my dad.

We just had it remounted... To clean the fins and color up alittle bit.

This is the guy that redid it and afterwards

Yowza! What a slab! Great job on the remount, too. Your grandmother musta been quite proud of that gill. Any idea what body of water it was caught? Thanks for sharing!

Dang, that thing is huge. I've always wondered how a fish with such a small mouth can get that big?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, rather to skid in sideways, body used up and totally worn out screaming 'WOO~HOO what a ride!'

Yeah she caught that thing out of her pond in the back field. I tried and tried but never could get another one like that out of that farm pond. Pretty sure that someone came in and netted the pond clean....

She passed away about 2 monthes ago at 105 years old.

Sorry I don't remember the weight, the newspaper clipping is on the back of the mount.
