Dude seriously, I am so jealous. WTG. Keep on keeping on!
Just spoke w/ the fisheries biologist and Kentucky and Barkley lake population of bluegill and redear is exploding! If you like to catch them be on these lakes in Early May.
Nice mess of fish ! Be sure to post some spring photos of those big gils
Flyfishing for Bluegills is one of my favorite things to do. This wasn't a big haul, but fun just the same. The discoloration is from being in the bucket :o .

I usually only eat crappie and catfish - how do sunfish taste? I filet both crappie and catfish so there are no bones in them (kids eating too!). Can you filet these so they are bone free? I have heard in the past they taste great but are 'full of bones' - what's the story?
You were whuppin on those brim there Shooter.!
Thanks for sharing the pictures. giller
looking forward to giving it a shot
we catch some pretty large bluegill/perch/sunfish at the lake of the ozarks, but just toss them back. my 6 year old will be pretty excited if we start tossing some of the big ones into our basket!
i would have done it all along had I known they would filet just like any other fish and be boneless - I was always to worried about having my kids eat fish with bones (actually, worry about myself too :))
nice catch of fish thier folks.
Nice board of Kentucky gills!!! There are a lot of nice fillets there.:) Illinoisgiller

Yet another nice mess of gills!!! Thank you folks for sharing the pictures. I'm ready for thawed out water. lol Illinoisgiller
What lake were you on? Some hot water cornbread, and greens would make a really good meal.
Nice pile of fish but no state in your bio.
One of these days I have to go somewhere and ice fish. It looks like a lot of fun but a little hard to find in So Cal
opps sorry my bad lol south central mi
Nice Fish!!
I caught this bugger right off the dock.
Few pics from last year ice fishing as well as a tiny little pumpkin' seed caught while walking through a creek here in central, IL.
Those pumpkinseed are beautiful fish! We used to keep small ones in our aquariums.
Nice picture!
Caught these last weekend on Houghton Lake Michighan. Last weekend of ice fishing for me until December.

a nice mess of my favorite perch!
skeeter, that boat in your signature looks like a Skeeter Starfire I ran back in the 80s. Mine was charcoal grey with teal blue slash stripes. There were none like it in these parts in those days. They are great,FAST boats. If I couldn't tear them up you know they were well built.
I love my boat this is a 1988 sx185 the only gripe i have about it is the livewell.... if i caught over a 6 pound bass he wouldnt fit through the hole!
I caught these with a friend last year. the pic doesn't do them justice:
