Warmouth/Rock Bass
Goggle Eye/Warmouth/Rock Bass in Texas.:popcorn
Goggle Eye or Warmouth in Louisiana. I should point out north Louisiana also because the north and south refer to fish with different names.
is a green sunfish. 100% not a warmouth. Warmouth are more elongated with much larger mouths.A 4" warmouth has a bigger mouth than the fish the gentelman posted. The light shading around the fins is also a dead giveaway, this is very common in large sunfish, which his looks like. If you look on the edges of the fins you will see the lighter color. Here are 3 pics of warmouths and 2 pics of green sunfish. If you have been catching these fish they are not warmouth Here are Warmouth on this reply. Scroll down for Green sunfish:

Sinfish: The fish the guy pictured is darker but that doesnt matter, its just that color b/c of the water it came from. Here are Sunfish.

Young gun your photos show 2 kinds but in the northern streams of Arkansas we also have Shadow Bass and Ozark Bass species which look in shape real similar too. Thanks for correcting folks.
Guys, remember this is the "big fish" thread, not the "fish ID" thread. :)
This was caught yesterday from a one-acre pond I manage:

Guys, remember that this is the "bream" forum, so let's reserve this thread for pics of big bluegills, shellcrackers, etc. If you have pics of other big fish, please post them in the appropriate forum.
Thanks! :)

This was caught this past weekend from a three-acre pond I manage. The owner was fishing for bass with a plastic worm. He caught two other bluegill nearly this big, one on the worm and one on a spinner:

This Gill was just short of 11 inches. The fish was caught in 24 FOW just before fall turn over. Bait of choice was 1/8 once KISS bug scented with power bait. The fish was C & R and should be close to 12 inches next year.Attachment 105275
Wow,
Looks like you're doing a good job!
