has anybody ever tried to grill or bake bream?
Yes and there gooood.
Yes, I have. Usually when we are camping and fishing I'll put a few on the grill and they are really good. Try it, I think you'll like it, just be carefull not to overcook.
Bluegill
o yes they are some good grilled.has anyone tried them in the microwave.
i got this from an aunt of my wife's: take your fish season with italian dressing in browning bag ,you can add salt and or pepper as you like.
Allow 5-7 minutes cooking time per cm of thickness (10 minutes per inch) for fresh fish.
Allow 10-12 minutes cooking time per cm of thickness (20 minutes per inch) for frozen fish.
Fish is ready when fish is opaque and flakes easily.i cook fish on high in our microwave.

do you all fillet or scale and cut heads off and gut????
I'd scale, cut heads off and gut 'em, unless they were huge bull bream and you could get a good fillet off 'em. Leave the skin on, it adds flavor (not fishy flavor) and it helps the meat not fall apart on the grill.
Have you tried boiled bream, like you would do shrimp? Fillet them, then put in boiling water with a lot of crab boil, take out and eat with cocktail sauce. They won't make a full meal, but are great appetizers
i skin all my gills and chinks,it is not that hard once you learn how.
i like em with the bones.
i hate duck grass
The meat is so delicate that I would scale them, cut the heads off and cutt them, otherwise you just run the risk of them falling apart on the grill.
Use a no stick spray or something to keep them from stick. I usually brush mine with a little olive oil then apply some cajun seasoning.
Good stuff for sure although I am not sure anything beats a plate of golden brown fried fillets. I don't care what the doctor says.
