    Default Price Of Crickets

How much are yall paying for crickets?, I might have to order from someone on line and build a box to keep a few on hand.
Anyone got some pics of your cricket box?

I'd drop the crickets and use artifical baits. We catch just as many with less mess and it's way cheaper too!

    $4 a hundred in Birmingham.

Although at this time of year I order them by the box of a thousand for 13.95 plus shipping from fluker farms.

You can do a search on line for cricket boxes..

Basically it is pretty simple. Mine is a plywood box, with metal foil tape up high so they can't get to the top. I have a hinged door on top with wire mesh screen. And I have a 40 watt light wired in to keep the box warm and to provide me light to catch crickets.

For a cricket box I bought one of those big rubbermaid storage boxes at wal mart with a locking lid and put me a few vent holes in the top with screen over them.It works really good.I have had as many as 2000 crickets in it before with no problems....

I've never done it but ordering them is alot cheaper. You can order for like $10(includes shipping) for 500. Or breed them that would be easy also.

A cheap alterative is using part of a plastic trout worm. Walmart sells them in a small pack. They are bright colored plastic worms a little fatter than spagetti. We use pink ones on a small fly type leadhead under a cork. A package lasts several trips and the cost is under a dollar per package.:D
