    Default Gills, Crackers And Specks...

...and a few bass but I don't take the bass so they are not represented here today.

Grabbed Wifey, a tube of crickets and my Pfleuger trigger and had a fantastic time on the lake today. Took my little Pelican 10 footer and some of these bullies would actually turn the boat a little...talk about mean little guys.

There are two things to aim for in life: First, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieves the second. Author unknown, but I like it!

Yes, gents...at least a few of them were as good eatin' last night as they were catchin'. I believe some of these fish were on steroids or something...I can't remember gills ever giving "pullage" (to borrow a phrase from CrappiePappie) like they did.

    Those upright poles are:

    • Slingshot uprights used to launch coyotes and small critters to the awaiting channel cats on the lower end of the lake. Catfish so big around here, nobody wants to venture to that end of the lake and feed them so I wrap long strips of sliced bulldozer inner tubes around those posts and fling 'em suppper several times a week.

    • I'm constructing a "reverse bungie jumping" water ride in which one will sit in a cage which in turn will be mechanically drawn down beneath the surface of the lake and at the push of a button, the cage with occupants will be shot corkscrew fashion up and out of the water, whirling skyward.

    • Markers for some of the crappie condos I built a couple years ago. At 53 and graying rapidly, I figure I would be getting more and more forgetful so I wanted to make sure I marked them well.

    • A pair of old utility poles that were there before the lake was built.

Choose one of the above. First correct answer wins a pair of vintage Henways.

    Default Utility Poles

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say the last one, "utility poles"
