I dont own one but I had my selection down to 2 rod's while in dick's sporting good's.It was between the all star and a st croix.I bought the st croix but the all star im sure was just as good.I use finwick and microlight rod's and it took me a little while to get used to the st croix rod as it is quite lighter in weight. The all star was just as light as the st croix.

Didn't know they made a crappie rod but I have a UL and a med action and love them. I had a St Croix but took it back and traded for the All Star. Don't get me wrong, St Croix makes a fine rod but it just didn't feel right to me. Have you a link to the crappie rod you are talking about?

Thanks for the help!!! It is only 6' ft long, so I guess you probably woudn't consider it a crappie rod. I have 3 All Star bass rods and wondered if the ultra light rods are just as good. Thanks Again:D

Another vote for All Star. I recently bought an All Star Select from Dick's - it was a pretty light weight 5' 4" model. I put a Shimano 750 Sedona on it and it feel GREAT! Rods are on sale for $49 at Dick's right now too.
