Spend the money and you will have to. Check out Rivers Fly Fishing, they have a good selection. I didnt particular care for the BP line, but that might fit you needs . If you dont want to spend a lot of money I can tell you who not to Talk to!! HA!!
I'm no expert, but at 70 years old, I've caught a few fish. Growing up in Western Kentucky, closer to Reelfoot than Ky lake in the 40's and 50's I got hooked on fish. In my 20s I bought a cheap fly rod and a single action reel. A few illustrated articles in Sports Afield and Outdoor Life gave me the fundamentals..
This I know. A bedding Bluegill cannot, and will not, ignore a small popping bug, a rubber spider, or any imitation of a bug. It is also sheer joy to fly cast a bug within an inch of the last rising bluegill and to know that she is yours.
A 7 weight will allow you to catch bass, bluegills, large trout and even big carp, large saltwater fish (10 pounds) or a little more.
