    Default moon

Need some info on the spawn. How much does the moon matter?

A lot. If I'm looking for bedding bluegills, I focus on three days before the full moon and three days after. Unfortunately, the moon phase doesn't always coincide with my fishing days. I fish as often as I can, regardless of whether the moon phase or the barometric pressure or whatever isn't perfect.

Over the years, I've come to put a bit more stock in Solunar tables to help make the most of the limited time I have to be on the water. I found a reliable freeware program that calculates the best times to fish based on the sun and moon. I also take weather patterns into account - don't like cold fronts.

If you're interested, you can get the program here - http://www.simtel.net/product.php[id...eID]simtel.net

It's been pretty reliable for me. I use Google Earth to pull up the lat/long for where I'll be fishing, and have all my favorite fishing places saved.

I like to fish about 5 to 7 days before a full moon or 5 to 7 after. Not during. I start paying attention to wat the moon is doing around April and continue through July. I have found bream spawning regularly during these months. Even as late as August.
