As for Gill stories.....Game Warden came out to certify my largest Gill, however, it was not a lake record. Largest caught that was certified was over 4 lb.. in Ark. and on the lake I was at, it was 2+ lbs. Any non-believers, put up. I can take you to that post and let you catch them yourselves and remove your doubts.

I read a similar story in a recent In-Fisherman. Guys were wondering why they weren't catching as many 10 pound walleyes anymore. The problem was they actually starting weighing the fish instead of estimating their weight. Through the magic of an objective scale, 10 pounders miraculously became 7-8 pounders! :DQuote:

Anytime you want to hop on down here I'll put you up and put you on the fish. You may not want to leave! I have bbq's almost every weekend and we ride our 4-wheelers.......my place is like the "Redneck Games" arena! Here, you get on the fish at about 6:30am.. They start hitting good right about 7:00 and go till 9:00. After that it's hit and miss. There are areas where you can catch them through the day, but it's action packed early and most people switch from Crappie to other fish after early morning. Come on down anytime...........I'll send you home with plenty of sweet fish.

Just about any hand held digital scale with a capacity of 15 pounds or less will work.
This one will weigh to the nearest 1/4 ounce (if the fish is still enough).

Thank you PanMan_VA. Those hand helds didn't used to be that accurate. Modern technoligy just keeps racing along.
This scale will be much more user friendly and made for the job at hand. Thanks again, Mike
I have a couple of ABUMATIC reels that I really like and I just put some Cajun ren on them myself (usually take a sack of reels to Academy and have them all done at once) and I've got terrible line twist. I put the string on the table between a couple of books and just reeled the line with a little finger tension. Is that totally wrong? Can you believe I've been fishing for 40 years and need to ask this question?
