Not trying to be a Pain, but i thought this post was about Bream or Bluegill, but you said that you caught'' 28 nice keeper crappie'' in this post. Is a crappie considered a BLUEGILL in the south ? i don't know being from Ohio. But your setup does work, even in OH.

Great point, sorry about that.
I don't use slipbobbers and normally don't use a bobber placed over 5-6 feet from my bait or jig.
And now that I'm thinking of my reply, a swivel above the bobber would hinder on the proformance, too. Yepper, swivel needs to be under the bobber with a 2-4 foot mono/flouro leader, then slip bobber.

Yep, that sounds a lot better. :D

The last line of my post says I use the same setup for Bluegill. I just switch to a 1/64 or 1/80 jig and a thinner slip bobber. By the way the 'Gills in the south make Ohio's look like dinks. Ive spent 30 years fishing West Branch, Mosquito, Berlin, Mogadore up in Ohio and never caught Bluegills like I have down here. It would take 30 of those to equal the meat in 5 of the ones we have down here. GO BROWNS!!!
