Where is your personal pond full of Tilapia? It must be a blessing to be able to walk out and harvest them anytime you want.
They grow stripers on a fram in the ca desertQuote:

the water gets very very dirty, so they put in the talipa and some sort of other fish to clean up after the stripers. meaning they eat striper poop.
after the talipa get they fill the water is recycled and the talipa are harvested and sold to market.
Saw it on dirty jobs
i have heard of them but never actually seen one--i heard they were good to eat--how do you cook em
Tilapia...ahhh the memories!
Went Back home to California this past summer. My stepfather and I ventured to Carona lake to try and catch a few fish. Well, we end up catching close to 100 that day. That was my fist time feeling the pull of the mighty tilapia. I didn't know that they were so agressive! They were all around 2lbs or so. We couldn't get to the larger tilapia that were in the thickest of brush, they kept hitting the top of the water feeding on ???. Their backs were showing in the shallow water.
I have no idea where they came from, I've just been feeding them for the past few years. I've also got some bass and a dozon or so catfish in the pond that is probably 30' x 12'.Quote:

Let me know if you need anymore pics.
I used to catch em near Yuma, AZ at a spillway near where the Gila River dumps into the Colorado. I agree, good fighters, great eating.
Nice pond!! How handy is THAT.:)
