10 " Gills are rare in these parts, even true 9"s are hard to come by. Been a couple years since I caught a 10 incher and that was a cracker/gill.

9 inch gills are fairly common in that lake and 10 inch versions abide there in decent numbers as well . Of course they are heavy on the crossed up genetics in my opinion and seem to have a mix of Florida, native and sometimes a tad of red ear in them as well .Quote:

I will,say this though , the red ear crosses never seem to have heavy body weights on them and don’t typically get as large as the Florida crossed with the natives best I can tell
