Current Slip-Floats in My Lineup
This season, I’ve been running three different slip-floats:
• Carlisle Float (right) – My go-to for almost a decade. I’ve used this float nearly exclusively for 10 seasons, and I absolutely love it. It casts like a dart with pinpoint accuracy and has been as reliable as it gets.
• Eagle Claw Float (middle) – This is new in my arsenal this season. It’s almost identical to the Carlisle in every way except one: the entry hole is very small, so you don’t need a bead. That’s a neat little convenience when rigging.
• Tail Fin Float (right) – Also new for me this year. I tried it for the first time the other day and was pleasantly surprised by how sensitive and visible it is on the water. This style is a first for me, so I’m still learning its strengths — but so far, it’s been impressive.
All of these are slip-float style setups, and they each bring something a little different to the table.
Relax. Cast. Repeat,
Slip
