    Default Catching the scraps

The areas I fish , are so heavily fished that I consider myself catching the scraps .
What’s left after the “white bucket crews” have been pounding away and keeping everything and anything that winds up on their hook .
They would have kept the little juvenile gills I caught today .
But , I’m happy to get out for an hour or so and catch something. Especially since it’s so close to home and I had to fish in between showers today .

I took a couple of older rods today , both St Croix UL’s , a 5’ Avid ULF and a 5’ ULM Original Panfish series .
The Avid wore a Soare bb500 and the Panfish an old Sahara 500 fe . Both had Ande Tournament 2# line.
Both cast a 4mm tungsten jig far enough and I really couldn’t tell the difference in the fast action Avid and the Moderate action Panfish .
They both had a nice bend even with the seven 4-5” gills I caught .
