Yesterday was cloudy, windy and cold with a chance for rain but went anyway. Got to my first spot where a spring feeds into the lake and starts to rain. Gills started jumping on my duck feather jig and caught a hand full before the rain chased me to the car. It didn't last long and after 15 minutes was back to where it started. It seemed every gill in the lake was in that area and all were hungry. At one point I hooked something bigger and thought it was a redear the way it was pulling drag but turned into the biggest male gill I'd seen in many years here in Missouri. It was easily 10" long, tried to flip it up on the bank but jig popped out while it was airborne and dropped back into the lake. After a few curse words I went back at it. Probably touched close to 100 fish in three hours and left them biting. Even caught a couple skinny rainbows. Heading back there today.Name: IMG_6042.jpg
