Default An hour at the Docks

Spent an hour at the docks this evening.
Temperature was mid seventies, and very little wind . Actually got pretty warm out there in the direct sun .
I took one combo , a 5’ Aji do Major Craft rod and Soare XR500 . 2# Floroclear.
The bite was slow without the wind . I’m guessing that was the factor .
I caught six mostly on micro jigs , one on a micro spinner .
A couple of the better ones .

I think the wind does help the bite some. Heard Richard Gene say the same before.

Fished the docks this evening for almost an hour , after the front went through and the severe weather blew out of here .
I haven’t been doing as good in the evening, and today was no different. I only caught three gills , using a 5’ Major Craft Aji Do rod with an older model Shimano Nasci 500 , spooled with 2# Ande Tournament yellow .
I wanted to to test out the Nasci and the Ande line .
Unfortunately the older Nasci suffers the binding the newer Nasci 500’s when a fish is on . A smooth little reel otherwise that I’d added ball bearings in the handle knob .
The line did good . It’s 0.12mm helped with casting my micro jigs . It is designed for IGFA tournament fishing and will not break over the stated weight .
Still enjoyed getting out , but I’ll try to work it where I can get there a few hours earlier.
At least I wasn’t out there bundled up freezing my fingers off . I’m so happy to see warmer weather .

I bought a Nasci last year and noticed it binding when fish were on. Definitely a flaw. Only reel that ever did that without getting wet.

I think it has something to do with the gear ratio of the newer small Shimano reels . 5.6/1 is too fast for a small reel .
