Good job

Met up with my fishing buddy today just before noon and we fished until 4:30 , at three different locations at the reservoir.
I took several combos , but used my 5’8” Major Craft Aji do Ajing U
Rod most of the time .
A 4mm Tungsten bead jig made using a size 12 streamer hook in dark olive oil.
I could get by with a small flybox of jigs and leave the rest of my lures at home .
Although I like fishing other lures , I love micro jig fishing .
The weather was nice , sunny low seventies , and of course we had wind .
I’ve decided to quit complaining about the wind and just deal with it. There’s nothing I can do about it, I’ve just need to learn to fish during it .
I finished up with seven gills , five green sunfish, and a couple of nice , fat Ultralight spotted bass on 2# Floroclear line . The bass were a blast on the Aji do with several nice drag clicking runs with my Shimano Soare bb 500spg .
My buddy ended up with twelve assorted gills total .
I glad to see a few bluegills starting to show up in the shallows as well as the spotted bass .

I’m betting that the bass didn’t want to give up, had to be fun. Glad to hear that the weather is treating you better too. Good day fellas.

Those bass .
They’re actually two different fish , one of them has a worn out tail from spawning. I think spot spawn earlier than LMs . These were probably post spawn fish searching the boat ramp for anything that looks edible.
And yes they were a lot of fun . Luckily I was able to get off the rocks to a sandy area where I could beach them , since my folding net is always in the car .
Landing fish that weigh more than your line’s test weight gets quite challenging fishing from the bank .

That is a fine looking bass. Yes, they do look like they could be interested in bulking up. Give ‘em a few weeks!
