Default Gill day plus a slab

Waiting for a trout stocking at lake by my house but gave it a shot anyway. Mainly fishing the dock area in the shady areas and some nice hybrid gills were biting. Fished the front shady section and got thumped by a slab crappie using a 1/24 swordtail bugger jig. The fish gods were good to me and I landed her. I've been fishing this city park lake for over 60 years and it's easily my PB for this lake. Just over 15" so I got my first 15"er for the year.

Good slab there Jim. Fish have been slow here but I got one like that today. Biggest I’ve gotten since I moved back. This cold snap that’s coming will drop our water temps so I’m thinking there’s better days coming.
