I got a chance to go yesterday afternoon with the temps in the 50’s. I was just glad to go be in the sunshine after a spell of cold, wet and overcast during the week. Things didn’t start too quick and I worked my way through some places that gave up a couple of fish last time out but no love this time. Got up near some pads and found three Crappie that are basically the same size as I’ve shown before. It felt like I was catching the same three fish on like three trips now.
The Lunakia got the play this day and the bigger fish was lots of fun. Not many fish were caught but of course, the pretty boys had to show up, one of them starting to show his colors for the girls.
The little gill and a few of his friends came to visit along with a largemouth about ten inches. I noticed that my bug colors weren’t working very well but the brighter, minnow looking colors got the nod. The hatch that was prevalent last week wasn’t there this week. The small bass we’re having a good time with em but not this time. Hope y’all stay warm and get out when you can. I’m thinking of dropping in to see who’s playing today. Til next time…..Skeet
