    Default Winter Green Fish

    21 degrees this morning @ seven o’clock with a predicted high of 44 .
    But supposedly less wind .
I waited until it hit 40 around 12:30 and headed to the town pond .
I’d cut up some Zoom worms into shorter lengths and made up some tungsten jigheads using 4.6mm beads and size 8 hooks .
I took my 6’ St Croix Avid Panfish UL paired up with a Shimano Soare bb500spg , spooled with 2# P-line CXX .

After tossing the worm rig for about half an hour without a nibble , I switched to a size 10 tungsten jighead and black mini trout magnet.
I fish the sunny side for about twenty more minutes without anything.
I walked over to the shaded side for about, which happened to be the side the wind was blowing toward . Winds out of the north 6-14 mph made it pretty cold even though I was bundled up.
First spot I fished was where I’d catch a bass yesterday and on the first cast , picked up a fun size bass .
I caught five bass on the next seven or eight casts . Must have been a school of them in that area .
The fish felt like ice cubes . After catching six I had to warm my hands . I had on fingerless polar fleece gloves, but the wind was freezing my fingers .
    Ended up catching nine .
I think it finally got to a high of 46 just as I was leaving around three to meet my wife for lunch . About two hours of fishing .
I know a lot of folks don’t like the green fish , but they are willing to bite when it’s cold .
    Can’t find the gills .
