Default Creek fishing w/M C F travel Glass

Finally got an opportunity to wet a line today .
I took only one combo today , my Major Craft Finetail travel glass UL , setup @ 4’6” and paired with a Shimano Soare bb 500sspg , spooled with island blur Daiwa J-braid Grand .

I started on this beautiful fall day at Lake McIntosh , hoping to catch a few warmouth, shooting the docks next to the boat ramp.
Guess the low night temps have run them off , because I had a skunk going .

Decided to take the hike to the creek below the dam.

When I got to the creek , two guys were bait fishing the deep holes below the little shoal area .
I hoped they hadn’t already fished out the shoal area .

It took a few cast before I caught my first fish , a tiny bass . I was beginning to worry again .
Maybe they had fished it already or maybe the cool nights has turned them off feeding completely.
I kept fan casting , first below the rocks , then the area above .
I lost my jig on an underwater snag and my leader broke at the braid end .
Without any leader material with me , I tied a solid black jig directly onto the braid .
Even with the fairly clear creek , the fish didn’t seem to care about the braid .
Then I hooked a small redbreast and figured two fish are better than none .
Ended up catching ten total in forty minutes.
    Better than I expected.
I love creek fishing . I need to find some more accessible creek areas .
Creek fish seem to love my little micro tungsten jigs. And the combo was awesome for fishing tight areas .
