Yup better than a skunk. Good job.

First , I’d like to say I plan on starting a weekly post and just add to it for each fishing trip for that week , instead of starting new posts for every trip .
I’m thinking of starting this Saturday, if I’m able to get out .
It’ll run from Saturday through the following Friday .
If I go tomorrow, I’ll add that trip to this post .
Today’s short trip lasted forty minutes , while I waited for my better half to get her hair done after dropping her off .
I fished Lake McIntosh that’s around ten minutes away from where I dropped her off .
It was sunny , and cool , low 60’s , after a low of 37 last night .
The water temps are dropping fast .
It was a little windy , so I started off fishing a float n jig using a 5”6” St Croix Trout Series ULF rod , with a Daiwa Legalis LT 1000s and Daiwa J braid finished off with a leader of 4# Floroclear.
After several unsuccessful casts , I removed the float and started working the edge of the riprap .
I caught a tiny warmouth in just a few casts . Five minutes later I landed a nice green sunfish . Working down the bank , I hook a tiny bass that vibrated so fast it looked mechanical when I lifted it out of the water , only to have it shake loose .
Next , I worked under the dock next to the ramp, that’s usually pretty good . Got a couple of light bites , but no hookups .
I tried a few empty casts off the dock , then headed over toward the dam where’s there’s a shallow cove that had a steady wind blowing down it .
I snapped my float back on about 18” over my chartreuse and black 4mm tungsten bead jig and slow retrieved a couple casts covering most of the cove .
On my third and what I planned on being my last cast , my bobber disappeared and I had a nice little battle with a 7-8” shellcracker that pulled drag a few times .
Forty minutes, three fish . At least it wasn’t a skunk .
Looking over my records , I noticed my catching starts to taper off about this time of year , with the exception of the town pond and the big reservoir that’s over an hour away.
Beats a skunk! Thanks for sharing
