Default Trying to beat the rain !

I spent three hours this morning dodging rain , sometimes heavy rain . Trying to get in some fishing time before the tropical storm gets here tonight.
I started off at Line creek pond casting a jig on a 5’ St Croix Premier ULM , paired with a hybrid reel , a Shimano Soare c2000sspg body with a Ultegra spool and a 500 Nasci handle .
I was rewarded with a couple of small largemouth .
I switched rods and headed for the creek with an old model 5’ SC Triumph ULM paired with the new model KastKing Zephyr 1000 SFS finesse reel .
I was afraid I’d get trapped too far from my vehicle, and only spent about 25 minutes at the creek before climbing back out .
I could see dark clouds to the NW when I reached my car .
I landed only three fish , but had several others come loose before I could get my hand on them .
That happened quite a bit today , especially at my next destination, the creek below Starr’s Mill .
I wanted to fish the creeks one last time before they get blown out by the tropical storm that’s supposed to dump about 7” on us before Saturday morning.
My biggest fish came from SM creek during the 25 minutes I was able to fish it before the skies opened up and ran me off .
I fished my favorite rod combo of the day , my 4’11” Palms Egueria Native Performance Rod XUL . I love those glass rods . On it was a Shimano Soare 500spg .
I only landed four fish but among them were the better fish of the day . I lost another five .
I left there and drove to lake McIntosh with the weather forecast saying the rain was going to stop for a 30-40 minute break .
It was still raining when I arrived , but stopped in about ten minutes and I jumped out to see what I could coax out from underneath the dock beside the boat ramp .
Ended up with a small bluegill and three small warmouth before big raindrops got me headed to my vehicle after less than 20 minutes of fishing .
It rained right up to my street, but slacked up enough for me to get unloaded and in the house .
    A busy three hours .
