Honey Hole
Wife and I went back up to Lake Poinsett yesterday. She said I had to raise the Bimini. Well as most know hard to fish with a Bimini. But I made it work and brought in about 14 quality fish. I also caught about 30-49 juvenile shell cracker in the 7-8 inch range. Used Trout Magnet in RootBeer Float and Sow Bug colors. Jig head was a Daiwa Gekkabijin 1.5 gram #8 hook. Line was Varivas ES2 Lemoni in 1.75# test. Used a couple of rods. A Diplomat Extreme 62 UL and a TenRyu Lunakia 63. I’m going to call this lake a honey hole. Made 4 trips and had great catching all 4 times. We fished until 4:30 and then headed over to the picnic area for a great meal my wife prepared. Here’s an odd thing, had the whole lake to ourselves. And then no one else at the picnic area in the park. As a matter of fact didn’t see anyone else at all in the park. Going to be next week until we get some cooler weather again. Will hit it again and hope I don’t have to use the Bimini. I buried about 6 jig heads in that thing.

Gotta love it when you find the mother lode! The heat here has been brutal and sends us home most every trip. I have a Bimini that’s never been on my boat. I might need to move the mounts, maybe. Some nice fish and I’m glad y’all enjoyed the day. I’ve got a week off starting Thursday and I see some early trips in my future, maybe some salty ones. Hope you get back soon.
