Had a great 2.5 hours yesterday at Bald Knob Lake. Boated between 70-80 bluegill nearly all at the 7.5-8.25 inch mark. Good girth on these fish. Where the shell crackers are I have no clue. Nearly every one of them came off of one bed. The only reason I checked out another location is it was time to go. Didn’t stay long and pulled out at 6:30. I used a Lunakia 63 and the Abu Garcia 67 Slow Taper Special. Some great engineering going on in the blank of that rod. To be so crisp and steely yet be so soft is pure magic. Still my favorite rod out of all. Used a Bison and SowBug colored Trout Magnet. The Slow Taper was spooled up with Varivas ES2 Lemoni Ester in 2# test. That line on the Slow Taper makes for quite a jolt when a bluegill hits. Check out the pic of the Slow Taper bending curve. All fish were released.
