Thread: First one

Here in Missouri they have a winter trout stocking program where once the waters cool enough they stock trout in some of the lakes with a few bigger brood fish thrown in to make things interesting. Since the program started in 1991 I have caught thousands of nice trout at these lakes but never had caught a big trout at one of these lakes, in fact never had even hooked one. Finally hooked one and and landed a 22" female. Only got a quick shot of her in the net. Every time I tried to take her out of the net she would go crazy thrashing so passed on more pics and released her. Fished one area and trout and redear and redear hybrids were biting. Ended with 11 trout and 8 assorted sunfish in two hours.
