Thread: Weekly Meetup 8-8-23

Met up with my fishing friend at one of our favorite boat ramps at West Point Reservoir around 10 this morning.
Water was down a couple feet below full pool .
Most of my fishing today was with my 5’6” St Croix Triumph ULF two piece , paired up with a Shimano 18 Soare BB c2000sspg , spooled with 2# Floroclear.
The only lure I used was a .4g micro spinner .
I caught 36 total fish today , most were small bluegills or green sunfish, but I caught three shellcracker, two of them were nice size and gave an awesome battle on the SC UL .
I also caught a nice redbreast hybrid that fought pretty good .
My friend caught 22, most on his 5’9” 2wt flyrod .
We fished a little over three hours before the heat and humidity got to us.
It’s always good to get together with friends chasing panfish.
