I finished a bit early at work today and so did the daily rains. I sat til about 5 and I just had to go, and I’m glad I did. Never went far and got to catch one gill on the new to me Presso reel. While I don’t care for the line the reel is real nice. The line is fine but built for tougher conditions and it’s 4 lb test. But back to the fish. I had six rods with me but never got to use em all. I dropped in and didn’t go far and just started pitching at some Bushes I’d caught fish in before. Got bumped a few times and got one gill before I pitched at some pads and got bumped. Lifted the rod and the drag sounded off. I tightened the drag but it didn’t matter, now he was in the pads. I held the pressure on and he got up tight to a pad and I couldn’t move him. Now what do I do…….. I let off on him a little and he freed himself and I was back in business. I thought it was a largemouth from the runs but then he got sideways and gave me a look. Shellcracker and a good one. By this time I had him coming my way. God was good to this and a few other fish today cuz I didn’t have a cooler to put him in so back they all went back today.

I was some kind of pleased about now. I hadn’t been fishing for maybe 15 minutes. The 6’6” build of mine did a fine job with them. I fished on for another hour and a half and caught a few more fish, also lost a couple at boatside. What wind there was fell to nothing and the heat and humidity made me pay for my enjoyment but it was worth it. They stopped wanting to play so I packed up and went home. This was a super recharge for someone who doesn’t get to fish when there isn’t a crowd. Thanks for looking in on me and I hope y’all get out and find a few. Here’s the other pics

There was about six of those little bluegill. There’s plenty of them for the years to come.
