BCS, nice old ride. I’ve fished out of a couple like that. Good boats.
I was looking at the alweld 1856 when I was looking at new boats, but it’s was a 4-5 hour ride just to go see it, then I started thinking about if I had problems and drive again to take it there, then go pick it back up, so I decided to buy local, sometimes I wish I would have bought the alweld.
I really didn’t set out looking for any particular brand. I saw that boat on Facebook at Mighty White Marine. I needed a boat that would function as a trout boat on rivets and yet I wanted to be able to fish smaller lakes with it also. This one fit the bill. Of course it is made not very far from where I now live. What impressed me most about the dealer is just how much custom work they do. It blew my mind. Back in middle TN there is not a dealer anywhere that does the level of custom work Mighty White does. But I’m finding out that here in Arkansas quite a number of dealers do custom work. They take their duck boats seriously out here and really trick them out.

Reading this I’m thinking of how nice it is to have the custom work by someone that does it all the time. Many of us have the skills and ideas but we lack the tools and access to materials and the cost becomes prohibitive. I’m looking forward to the reveal too.
