they bed about 200 yards from my front door at work , was gunna try to ketcha crappie , but there were SO many bream beds and active lil perchy fish on them ...AND zero crappie cooperation so ......
well you know the drill , down size to a small jighead and rip a few before lunch break is over .....
down there a really short float set up about 8 inches deep and A SLOW drag across the bedding area will result in a rather feisty hook up more often than not .
I noticed in the past that these fellas never really seem to get very big , but boy howdy it also seems that they got that there Napolean syndrome and make up for the size issue with a 3 times a regular sunfish fight ....
man do the them pups pull hard .....
20 or so and back to work I went , could have made it 40 or more easily if they were the actual target fish , but wasted half my time really trying to ketch me some crappie ....
only native bluegill and longears in the mix , not sure why the ever present green sunfish seem to have went away , but it might be like the crappie , used to be herds of both of them down there and rarely see either any more ?
might try a visit with bream tackle soon if I get the chance , sure is fun to play with them there lil rascals ....
KABOOM is the word btw![]()
