Met up with my fishing buddy today around 11:30 . Mostly sunny , cool , low 60’s to start , close to 70 by the time we headed home at 4:00 .
But very windy , 10-15 with gusts to 25-30mph . Made fishing with jigs quite challenging.
Today was a day of variety of species .
I ended up with the day with 5 spotted bass, 6 small gills , 4 green sunfish , a warmouth , a yellow perch, a crappie and a nice shellcracker.
All caught on different colors and sizes of Trout Magnets . Most were on 1/32 TM’s . Several smaller fish were caught on a mini Magnet in black .
I used a purple/pink for the first time today and was rewarded with a couple of bass .
Rods used were my 6’3” Abu Garcia mass beat , and my old faithful 5’6” four piece St Croix Triumph travel rod . Both were paired with Daiwa Fuego 1000 LT reels and 2# P-line .
My buddy ended up with eight including a nice bass .
I lost several bass that just came unhooked including one nice one that was probably close to four pounds . I got to see it several times before the hook pulled loose .
A fun day of fishing .
