Weatherman said showers this morning and cool , around fifty degrees.
I got rained on twice , nothing heavy and it didn’t last but a few minutes.
The weather kept changing on me about every thirty minutes.
But my first fish today was a small bluegill and he bit a jig .
Equipment used today was a 5’ St Croix Premier ULM paired with a Daiwa Fuego LT 1000d spooled with SOS 2# line .
I used a 1g Daiwa jighead on the first gill , then switched to a 1/32 Trout Magnet jighead and a variety of Trout Magnet bodies and Bobby Garland Itty Bitty Swim’rs .
Ended up with two small bluegills, a beautiful shellcracker, and four green fish .
I love jig fishing with short UL rods . They just feel more sensitive to me .
So happy to finally catch a few gills .
