It’s Monday and today was the day to meet my fishing buddy at West Point reservoir.
I got there around 9:45 , it was sunny and fifty-five degrees. Standing in the sun on the boat ramp it felt great !
My buddy arrived a little after ten and and I’d already caught ten small green sunfish on my 6’ St Croix Avid Panfish using a black Bobby garland itty bitty SwimR on a 1/64 jighead . I tried other colors throughout the morning with varied success.
Most were caught jigging around the few rocks that were still submerged around the ramp .
I was trying out a new P-Line , 3# Fluroclear . It seems to cast as well as 2# and hopefully will be less visible to the fish .
Some of the areas at the lower end of the lake are as clear as it gets
I ended up catching 44 fish total , 32 of them green sunfish . My buddy 18 .
Best of the day was a green sunfish-bluegill hybrid .
I caught a couple of the bright yellow hybrids too .
Some of the greenies were colored up nicely .
The wind picked up on the main lake around one and we had to shift back up one of the creeks .
Fun day fishing with my friend.
