Pretty little fellers. Mom and I both like the colors, one of the things we miss from TN. Glad you found some. Our river hasn’t even crested yet.
My “ Fish of the Day” today is a LM bass I caught this morning on my 6’ St Croix UL rod with 2# P-Line .
I clipped a 3/4” snap on weighted float about two feet over my 1/64 jighead with a Bobby Garland Itty Bitty SwimR to fish a shallow flat at the Town Pond .
It amazes me that a fish this size gobble up tiny offerings. But I don’t mind . :biggrin
That is a nice one, very light colors.
Two highlighted fish today .
One of the three green sunfish I caught this morning.
Another nice Greenie! Seems like plastics are getting it done lately.
Fished my green sunfish hole this morning for a couple hours .
Weather was perfect. Low 60’s when I got there , 70’s when I left . Light breeze.
Took three rods to play with . All St Croix’s . A 6’ old model Trout series , an older model 6’ Premier, and a 5’6” 4piece Triumph travel rod . All UL’s .
Two reels ; a Carbon X 1000 and a 500 size . Two pound P-line on both .
Jigs were 1/64 and the body was Bobby Garland Itty Bitty SwimR in a few colors and I ended the trip with a black Trout Magnet body .
It seems the company that makes Bobby garland lures has decided to discontinue my favorite color , the Black Cricket . So, I’m trying others to find a substitute.
I wound up fishing with the 5’6” Travel rod for the bulk of my fishing . Just felt better . Perfect length for dropping into spaces between the rocks and pulling out a green sunfish or a warmouth. I paired it with the 500 Carbon X reel .
I caught sixteen including this one , my biggest of the day .
It came out of a space just large enough to slid him out .
Nice! Sure has some dark coloration.
You’re having too much fun. Some nice fish the last couple of days.
Met up with my fishing buddy this morning at our favorite lake .
It was a beautiful morning. Sunny , light wind , with temps in the upper fifties upon arrival and low seventies when we left around 2:30 .
I managed to bring 14 specimens to hand including this shellcracker.
Caught on my 5’6” St Croix Premier/ Daiwa Legalis LT 1000 combo .
Although this was my largest of the day , I was able to land , I hooked a couple of bass that came unhooked.
