Trying to beat the heat

Got to the pond a little after 9:30 this morning. It was already 87 degrees , when I left at 10:45 it was already 91 .
Took my 5’9” Cabelas CGT 3wt that I finished replacing the grip and reel seat last night .
I had a 3wt line on the little reel , should have put a 4wt on it for the short casts .
I caught three gills in the last fifteen minutes of fishing .
I kept swapping flies until I found something that would draw more than a leg nibble.
I had to downsize to a size 14 spider.
Supposed to hit 100 today . Summer came early .
