Thread: Two trip report

I didn’t post my trip yesterday because I only caught four gills , two decent ones and two small ones .
I had a tough time figuring out what they wanted .
This morning I started off fishing a 1” slider grub and caught one , in the first 30 minutes. Then I switched over to float n fly , mainly because the wind picked up and it’s hard to detect strikes with a lot of wind putting a bow in my line .
Turned out the float n fly was the ticket .
I caught eight gills of various sizes and one small bass .
Fun morning with my 5’ St Croix Premier ULM paired with a Shimano Nasci 500 and 2# P-line .
For gills I’m enjoying the moderate action rod more than the fast action ones . Makes a better battle .
