In the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee, swimming in the blue green waters of my local reservoir lives a Fish of Many Colors.

Now Sevierville Tennessee’s most famous entrepreneur and philanthropist wrote a song about a Coat of Many Colors that her momma made for her out of necessity, made with love , made with leftovers, scraps of rags, a kaleidoscopic patchwork of the colors of the rainbow and more it was. Well I believe that our Great Creator made this awesome little fish in that same pattern, taking all the shades of the rainbow and more from each species of fish that He painted, putting them together to make this Fish of Many colors.

I see Orange and Gold on this Fish of Many Colors, so I am certain the Goldfish was called upon by the Ultimate Painter to contribute as well.

Purples and Pinks, well I know those are the favorite colors of my grandchildren, are also dotted on this small and scrappy canvas.

I was able to get into the shadow of these Old Hills and catch a few of the Fish of Many Colors this week. The best fish of the trip came in a little over 9in and is the biggest of 2022 so far.

It’s not just in my pictures of catches, look at the other posts from all corners of this country….large or small, in my eyes this fish is the most attractive of any thing that swims in our fresh waters. Many fish came to the hand and camera this week, some came home for dinner but most were released. Be it with Cane poles, crickets, or finely laid sheets of graphite and super sharp hooks threaded with realistic plastic creatures, try to get out and catch these little jewels our Creator has provided. The Bluegill, the Fish of Many Colors.
